Local organisation (non-governmental organisation) working in the area of
improving the status of women in Lithuania with the regards to women
employment issues, self-employment, enterprise development, women’s
leadership, influencing public opinion on gender equality.

Evidence of experience of the organisation of the women’s employment issues and
experience in international co-operation
WEINC is working in the field of women employment issues since 1994.
Every year nearly three thousand women are registered in our Job
Placement Agency. They are consulted and advised to attend courses held
in our Centre – English language, accountancy, computer skills, etc.
Approximately 25 % of our clients manage to find employment thanks to
our effort.
Another field WEINC is concentrating on is to encourage women to
start their own enterprises and create job places for themselves. For
three years WEINC has been arranging idea and trade fairs and
conferences for women in business
‘ Women’s Project’ where women entrepreneurs had possibility to
exchange their ideas and to influence legislation.
In 1998 our organisation was nominated by The Embassy of the United
States of America as one of the ten best NGOs in Lithuania.
